Cask Trade Giving Back
We are proud to support a number of fantastic charities. From long standing partnerships to new collaborations, find out how we gave back in 2024.
Cask Trade
We are proud to have supported several charities over the last few years, with 2024 being no exception. Last year we donated more than £80,000 across a portfolio of fantastic causes. From auctions to cask bottlings, whisky tastings to marathon running, the Cask Trade team got creative in raising awareness and funds for the charity initiatives we chose to support.

The Drinks Trust
The Drinks Trust supports people who work in drinks hospitality, past and present, in their time of need. Services include financial aid, wellbeing support, education and training. Being part of the drinks industry ourselves, we know how important it is to look after the training and wellbeing of staff, whether that is in relation to work or personal matters.
Our collaboration started in June 2024 when we bottled one of our very own casks of Speyside 2015 to sell at our summer tasting event. Alongside this, we donated a luxury raffle held on the evening of the event. At our Andrew’s Day event in November had more bottles and prizes, including a private whisky tasting, Tottenham Hotspur hospitality tickets, and luxury hampers were won by some lucky guests.
After two successful events with The Drinks Trust, we were surprised and delighted to win a Golden Pineapple Award for our Cause Based Marketing Campaign, at the charity’s annual awards evening. Collaborating with The Drinks Trust has been a highlight of 2024, and we look forward to continuing this relationship into 2025 though our events and other fundraising initiatives.
More information can be found on The Drinks Trust website, along with how you can get involved as an individual or through a business.

Tusk
Simon Aron, CEO and Founder of Cask Trade, has been a long-standing supporter of Tusk which continued into 2024. Tusk are on a mission to accelerate the impact of African-driven conservation and, for over 30 years, have supported forward-thinking and successful conservation intervention across the continent. From the Serengeti plains to the Congo Basin rainforests, Tusk are working towards a future in which both people and wildlife can thrive. In 2024, the funds raised specifically benefitted protecting the future of Black Rhino in Kenya through innovative LoRa technology.
In order to raise money for Tusk, Cask Trade took a less conventional approach. Keen runners, Keira Watkins and Alan Ironside, packed their trainers and flew to Africa to take part in the Lewa Safari Marathon in Kenya – the only marathon in the world where participants run through a wild conservancy. The pair raised over £3800 and got to visit projects across the Lewa Conservancy.
In September, Cask Trade were also delighted to attend Tusk’s annual clay shoot the prestigious Holland and Holland shooting ground. A successful day was had, with our donated prize of a whisky tasting securing one of the highest bids of the day.
We look forward to continuing our support in 2025. Our donations and fundraising will help fund upcoming projects such as the Uganda Conservation Fund, Wildlife Ranger Fund and Challenge, the Lewa Safari Marathon, and the Conservation Though Public Health (CTPH) scheme which promoted gorilla conservation among local communities.

Grief Encounter
We have supported Grief Encounter since 2021. The charity does immeasurable work, supporting bereaved parents, children and young people. For almost 20 years, the charity has provided free, professional and specialist bereavement services so that no-one is left to grieve alone.
Over the last few years, we have donated directly to the charity as well as contributing to auction prizes which have included a cask of whisky, rare bottles of whisky, and a whisky tasting.
Some members of the team also had the honour in attending the Grief Encounter annual dinner where they had the pleasure of meeting organisation members and those who had received vital support from the charity.
The Grief Encounter website has further information about the charity’s work, getting help, or donating.

Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH)
For the first year, we chose to support to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). GOSH is one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals with funds helping to drive groundbreaking research, cutting-medical equipment, child-centred facilities and support services for children and their families.
For those who celebrate, Christmas is a time for celebration and sharing. At Cask Trade, we wanted to give something back to those less fortunate, which is why we chose to donate to GOSH instead of sending gifts to our client base in December 2024.

Norwood
Norwood is a fantastic charity who support adults and children with neurodivergence and disabilities, empowering them to live their best lives.
At Cask Trade, this is a cause close to our hearts, with close connections and family members who have benefitted from the vital support the charity provides. We donate on an annual basis and look forward to continuing our support.
At Cask Trade, we are proud to support such a fantastic group of charities. We look forward to continuing our efforts in 2025 as well as build new relationships with other valued causes.
